Hi - new Klaviyo customer, coming from Sendgrid/Hubspot. We have two q’s:


1. We setup FB Lead forms to go into our “Email List” (is this best practice? what do you rec?)

2. Our flows are setup to trigger when someone fills out the Lead Ad Form. Klaviyo didn't receive all the leads from FB due to some error. I need to now add those in manually. Where should these go SO THAT they receive the same flow? Recall that the trigger is filling out the form on FB and that activity isn't seen / won't be seen on their Klaviyo record when I manually import them in.

Normally, the general recommendation is to have one “Main List” that every email is added to, and then use Segments to break them out.   It’s well explained here:

However, this is one situation, where I may actually prefer FB Lead Ads emails to go to its own List and follow their own List Triggered Flow (aka Welcome Flows).  The reason for this is so you can explicitly monitor their Flows separately from your Main List and easily compare/contrast their performance.  I find that Lead Ads quality can vary quite a bit depending on the targeting parameters of the ads (and the ad creative), so having high level visibility can help.  Also, the Flows you build for Lead Ads might be very specific to their respective Ad Campaign, or you may need to adjust them separately form your organic signups.  Technically, you can also do this with Segments as well, but this keeps things simple to manage and maintain. 

Just note, you need to make sure to update any Segments you use for your Campaign sends to factor in this List as one of the issues of having too many fractured Lists is they can sometimes be accidentally neglected.  If you send Campaigns to various “Engagement Tiers” - this should be OK, but just makes sure to verify.

If it’s a List Triggered Flow, like I explained above, then you can import/add the emails to the List, and as long as they are new to the List (not already in the List), they will go through the Flow.  Make sure you import those people into the List at the expected time you want people to receive emails (unless you have some time delay for a specific time in your Flow). 

If you have a “Metric Triggered Flow” like you mentioned “Filled out a Lead Ad Form” - you can recreate the Flow using a List Triggered Flow in a temporary (or the List I mentioned before) so you can run them through the Flow manually upon importing them into that List.
