Hello,

When setting up my welcome series, i usually have 2-3 emails.

The second email is an email that should go out to customers who havent placed an order after receiving the first email, i set the condition to “Has placed orders ZERO times since starting this flow”, however, i noticed that Klaviyos welcome flow template has it set to “Has placed orders once over all time” and then uses the “No” branch to send the second email,

Klaviyo

My question is

What are the implications or mine VS Klaviyos, from your experiences, which is better?

Thank you,

Hi @Kenedy,

Thank you for sharing your query in the community.

It sounds like you're on the right track with your welcome series! The difference between using "Has placed orders ZERO times" and "Has placed orders once over all time" is subtle but important.

Your Current Approach

  • Condition: Has placed orders ZERO times: This will trigger the second email only for customers who have never placed any order since they joined your list. It’s a stricter condition and ensures you’re only targeting brand-new subscribers.

Klaviyo's Template Approach

  • Condition: Has placed orders once over all time: This can be a bit broader. If a customer has placed an order at any point (even before joining the flow), they’ll get filtered out from that email. The "No" branch then sends the second email only to those who haven't placed any order.

Recommendation

If your goal is to specifically target new subscribers who have yet to make a purchase, your current approach makes sense. However, if you want to include customers who may have made a purchase before subscribing but haven't purchased again, you might consider Klaviyo's approach.

Hope this helps!
