So i’ve set up an email flow almost one month ago, but only 4 people have received the welcome email within the last 30 days, despite getting 30 - 50 sign-ups in that period. What could be the issue?

@02frederik

Can you share a screenshot of the setup? It may be several things.. probably the filters that you have in the flow are filtering a lot of people out of the flow..

Hey @02frederik

Just to add to what @Bobi N. asked, can you check the list that is triggering your welcome flow is set to single opt-in? or double opt-in? if it is set to double opt-in, there is a possibility that those subscribers never confirmed their subscription and so never received emails from your flows. You may turn your list to single-opt-in if you are okay with that.

I hope this helps

Cheers

It sounds like you're dealing with an issue where most of your new sign-ups aren't receiving your welcome email, even though your flow is set up. Let's walk through some common reasons why this might be happening:

1. Flow Trigger Settings: First, check the trigger settings for your flow. Ensure that the flow is set to trigger when someone subscribes to your list. If the trigger is too specific (e.g., only for a certain segment or tag), it might be excluding most of your new subscribers.

2. List or Segment: Make sure the people signing up are being added to the correct list or segment that the flow is watching. Sometimes, if a subscriber is added to a different list or doesn't meet the segment criteria, they won't enter the flow.

3. Double Opt-In: If your sign-up process includes a double opt-in, subscribers won't enter the flow until they've confirmed their email. Check to see how many of those 30-50 sign-ups completed the confirmation process.

4. Flow Filters: Review the filters in your flow. If you've set up filters that are too restrictive, they might be preventing subscribers from entering the flow. For example, if the filter is set to exclude people who have received a certain email recently, that could be causing the issue.

5. Suppression List: Check if any of your new subscribers are on a suppression list, which would prevent them from receiving emails. This can happen if they've unsubscribed before or if their email addresses are on a suppression list for some other reason.

6. Email Deliverability: Although it's less likely, consider checking if there's a deliverability issue. If your emails are being blocked by spam filters, they might not be reaching the recipients even though they are being sent.

To troubleshoot further, you can:
- Look at the activity feed in Klaviyo for those specific subscribers to see if they were added to the flow and if so, what happened next.
- Test the flow with your own email to see if you receive the welcome email as expected.

If everything looks correct and the problem persists, reaching out to Klaviyo support might be the next step to see if there's something happening behind the scenes.

The trigger for the flow is:

“When someone is added to Newsletter”, and added to the list “Newsletter”.

The signup process should not have a double opt-in process. When you go on the website and enter your email, I can see the email going into the newsletter list. The only restriction there is, is that the customer must have placed an order zero times, but when I sign up (and I haven’t bought), I still don’t get the email.

Is it directly in Klaviyo that i can change the “double opt-in” setting if that is the case?

I just checked, and the opt-in has always been set to single opt-in. I just don’t get why i don’t receive the welcome email?
