Sending review requests from Klaviyo account

We are currently using Loox to collect customer reviews but would like to send the actual review request from Klaviyo so that we can personalise these a bit more however looking into this more closely, it looks like you can’t actually send the 'leave a review' email through Klaviyo, it’s more for follow ups once someone leaves a review. Is that correct? I know Klaviyo also supports Yotpo and Stamped.io, are these the same though in that you can’t send the review request from Klaviyo - just post review emails?

Welcome to the Community.

Thanks for sharing your idea regarding Loox and sending a review request email.

The Loox integration is not a Klaviyo native integration unfortunately but rather offered and developed by the Loox development team. I took a look at their documentation regarding review requests and it looks like they do send over parameters from their site that you could use to edit our email templates with dynamic data. I would recommend looking into this doc to see if that helped.

Based on Loox's documentation, it looks like their integration only sends one event to Klaviyo when someone submits a review.  You should be able to filter on these data points that they mentioned in their document:
 

  • Rating - Star rating (1-5)
  • Photo Included - “Yes” if the reviewer attached a photo. “No” otherwise
  • Author - The reviewer’s name
  • Product Title - The name of the product
  • Product URL - The URL location of the product
  • Product Id - Shopify Product ID
  • Order Id - Shopify Order Id


In order to filter on these, you'd need to trigger filters or trigger splits in your flow (About Flow Triggers and FiltersHow to Add a Trigger Split to a Flow).  This will allow you to send different emails based on their ratings and other criteria. 
 
Please note that there is limited troubleshooting that can be done for third party developed integration as Klaviyo has no information on how the integration was developed. I would highly suggest reaching out to Loox team on further troubleshooting as the team has best knowledge on how the integration works. Here is a link to Loox contact us page.
 
If you want to send product review emails, you can use Klaviyo's built-in product review/cross-sell flow as a starting point, or you can build your own from scratch.

In short it’s not possible to send the actual review request widget ( The one with the number of stars selector, the text field and the submit your review button )

From experience you can only send it from loox or stamped directly. 

Stamped.io offers customization of the review request email for higher tiers subscriptions. ( it is only with html + css. No drag and drop friendly editor ) bit you can pretty much do whatever customization you want

With stamped you’re also able to trigger flows and lists on klaviyo according to few characteristics like score of the review ( say a klaviyo flow could be : when receive a reviews of 5 stars customer receive a thank you email if not customer receive a sorry email ) and more …

 

Bottom line stamped looks more like what you’re looking for. But careful stamped tends to slow down website speed score 😅
