Even though I am not traveling far like some of y’all traveling multiple days worth of flights from across the globe, I would love to hear if anyone has some specific podcast or other media recommendations for preparing/warming up the mental vibes for next week.

Here is what I am planning to tune into…

Podcasts

(related to the K:BOS agenda)

  • Giggly Squad – I happen to already tune in every Tuesday when their episodes come out, but I of course need to mention this is a must-listen to really get hyped for Paige DeSorbo (the K:BOS closing keynote speaker). Her podcast definitely isn’t business insight related 😂 but her and her co-host, comedian Hannah Berner, just released an episode, “Giggling about veneers, the fbi, and standing on business,” in which they answer some questions from the corporate listeners.

  • The Glossy Podcast – Jill Manoff, Editor-in-Chief at Glossy, will be joining a panel on Thursday, “the business of beauty is personal”, at K:BOS! Her podcast covers the intersection of fashion, beauty, technology, and business innovation. Definitely planning to go back and listen to some recent episodes.

  • Hard Fork – This is a good one from the NYT which gives deep dives into AI trends, automation, and how emerging tools shape consumer behavior. Definitely thematic to K:BOS sessions it seems.

  • The Modern Customer Podcast – I haven’t listened to this one before, but I just came across it and I am definitely going to queue it before next week. The podcast, hosted by Blake Morgan, features stories about how top companies are turning service and support into lasting customer relationships and revenue streams.

(broader podcast recs)

  • Morning Brew Daily – Sharp takes on business, tech, and culture, perfect for staying up to speed on the wider landscape shaping commerce.

  • The Business of Fashion Podcast – Essential listening for those attending our fashion, beauty, and retail sessions.

  • Ecommerce Fastlane – Practical strategies and growth stories from ecommerce leaders, tying directly into the journeys you’ll hear at K:BOS.

Audio books

I am currently multi-tasking on the following on Audible, depending on my mood:

Music

  • Boston by Augustana … “I think I’ll go to Bostonnnn” ,.. enough said
  • I’m Shipping Up to Boston by Dropkick Murphys … another one where I don’t think I need to explain myself!
  • All Too Well 10 Minute Version by Taylor Swift … K:BOS is rare, you’ll be there, and you’ll remmeber it all too well (in a good way). Autumn in Massachusetts is magical and Taylor’s most fall-themed soundtrack is a must, especially to honor the upcoming release.

Let me know what I should add to my playlist and if you have any recommendations for other attendees.
