There seems to be a character limit when selecting Shopify properties like “Product Title” from which t run actions or create a segmentation for an audience within Klaviyo. Unfortunately, we’ve been Klaviyo members for multiple months and can’t seem to segment even one of the 40+ audiences we can verbally describe-- mostly due to this weird glitch.

For example, let’s say we want to select a single product from which to trigger an email...but the product name starts with the same naming convention and style of hundreds of other products

e.g. “Cubic Zirconia Engagement Ring- The Jessica” might be the product name

Well, in the drop-down box on Klaviyo, we can’t even find that product.

All it shows is hundreds of truncated products that only go to

“Cubic Zirconia Engagement Ring- Th” so apparently that is the character limit.

Has anyone encountered this and found a workaround?

Hi @ringscompany

Thanks for sharing your question with us!

Are looking to create segments based on products that users have bought? You should be able to find the full name of the product by choosing the dropdown option ‘Item’ in the Filter option of ‘What Someone Has or Has not Done > Placed Order. If the ‘Item’ has a long title, you might be only be able to see part o the name in the dropdown preview, however, if you hover on the item name is should be show you the full item name, no matter the length. Unfortunately, you cannot change the dropdown preview to include more letters or words than it does already.

However, if you see a product is missing from your item options, I would check your catalog to make sure that it has synced properly Klaviyo. Klaviyo offer options that are found in the account and if that option isn’t found, it might be a sign that the product is missing from Klaviyo altogether.
