  • Deliverability refers to the likelihood that your SMS messages will successfully reach your subscriber’s phone
  • You can assess your deliverability health by monitoring metrics such as:
    • Delivery rate, fail rate, click rate, and unsubscribe rate
  • Strategies to improve SMS deliverability:
    • Collect explicit, specific SMS consent - consent must be separate from email
    • Include your company name and opt-out language in every message
    • Avoid sending spammy or prohibited content
    • Use quiet hours to avoid sending messages outside of waking/compliant hours
    • Enable double opt-in and tap-to-text or smart opt-in to avoid bot traffic and minimize mistyped phone numbers
    • Utilize the engaged, unengaged, error and language segments
    • Include a branded or shortened Klaviyo links in every message
    • Keep your SMS messages under 160 characters with 1 CTA
    • Send 1-2 campaigns a week and stay consistent
