I keep waiting for this to be released, but haven’t seen it yet, so I wanted to throw the idea out there - An alt-text AI feature in Klaviyo that can intuitively give a basic image description and/or extract copy from an image to fill in the alt text box. It would make our emails more accessible and boost SEO. Imagine not having to write out descriptions for every image - when I don’t have the copy elsewhere to copy and paste, I sometimes use Google Lens for this but it’s a very clunky, duct-tape workaround to something that could actually be a helpful use of AI both for marketers and customers.

Hey @eMeg,

I think that’s an awesome idea, and I’ll bring this up to our product team. Would definitely make the lives of everyone who designs templates a bit easier!

Bumping this.

Now that Klaviyo uses AI for image manipulation, AI alt text seems like a no brainer essential and would save me a lot of time.

Something like the app alttext . ai would do the trick.

Thank you!

@eMeg Such a good idea. I used to manage content in a CMS that had an integration with an AI instant alt text generator and it made life so much easier. I was just looking to see if there are integrations like this to easily connect with Klaviyo and good old Google AI suggested alttext.ai or altTextLab for APIs. I haven’t tested, but could be worth a shot in the meantime. Native feature would be lovely, though.
