Just curious if anyone currently uses Black Crow AI and sees the value of continuing to pay for the application when the new Klaviyo “Visitor Activity Backfill” feature claims to carry out very similar functions. Would love to get a discussion going on the pros and cons of the two!
Background:
Black Crow AI’s Klaviyo integration uses its Smart ID to overcome tracking limits (like Safari ITP) by persistently identifying shoppers. This lets brands send abandonment and repurchase flows to more people, trigger them based on richer behavioral data, and include personalized storefront links for higher engagement. It also powers predictive offers and cross-sell campaigns, all designed to increase reach, open rates, and conversion compared to Klaviyo’s default tracking.
We received an email that the NEW Klaviyo Visitor Activity Backfill is live and active on our accounts as of August 11th. Here is the description:
This enhancement allows you to capture a site visitor’s onsite behavior—such as product views and browsing activity—even before they are identified (e.g., via form submission or email click). Eventually, once the visitor is identified, their historical activity will be automatically synced to their profile.
This update helps your brand:
- Enrich customer profiles with more complete behavioral data
- Power more relevant and timely flows
- Improve segmentation and personalization across channels
- Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, by storing anonymous data locally in the browser until the visitor explicitly identifies themselves
