Hey all, we are trying to get a price drop email up and running and I am chasing my tail trying to find out how this works. I can find a lot of resources on how to structure the flow itself but not really anything on how to set up the email itself. I have seen a couple of other forum posts which tell you to “use the Klaviyo default price drop template” but I believe because we have a custom catalogue integration this is not available on our account.

The trigger is available, and I have set it up to trigger after someone has begun checkout and the item is reduced by 15% or more.

Now the issue is how to set up the actual email itself. If possible I would like to show the Item Name, Now price, Was price & percent at which it is discounted. Does anyone know where I can start with this?

Hi Miko,

Thanks for asking the Community!

You mention above that you have the trigger setup for your Flow. If you were to click through to the Metric and view the “Recent Activity” tab, and then expand some of those shown, what do you see?

For example, if I check my Placed Order Metric, I see the following:

Do you see supporting data under the Price Drop metric you have setup as a trigger in your Flow?

If you do, then you would create an Email template, add it to an email Flow step. and then add in the relevant personalisation tokens.

You can find the metric (or event) personalization tokens by previewing your email and on the left-hand side you will see Profiles that recently had that metric tracked against them:

If you don’t have such information within the metric you have as your Flow trigger it would need to be added somehow, perhaps by a developer.

Does that help you progress at all?

If it doesn’t, please post some screenshots of what you’re seeing and I’ll help further.

Thanks,

Ross

Hi @Miko !

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. It sounds like you are looking to set up a price drop flow but have a custom catalog set up.

First, I would ensure that you have all of the Requirements for catalogs synced via custom catalog feed or API. From there, you will just need to reach out to a Support member to request access to the “price drop trigger for custom catalogs” feature? Click here for next steps

You will want to make sure to specify the following in your support request:

  • The account which has a custom catalog or API catalog, if you have multiple accounts.
  • Event IDs for all metrics used as triggers with product data such as Ordered ProductStarted Checkout, and Viewed Product.
  • For each event, the field names for product ID and price.
  • For Started Checkout, the field name for the list that contains the products from the checkout.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any follow up questions!
