I have synchronized Klaviyo audiences with Google Ads for better targeting, but I see that the match rate is only 10-15%. Does anyone have experiences with this and a solution to increase the match rate?

Hi @nynketomorrowmen11 - You’re not alone, Klaviyo’s Google Ads integration can produce low match rates, and it typically comes down to how limited the synced data is. Here is why this can happen:

  • Klaviyo only syncs email addresses by default. Google Ads performs best when it has multiple identifiers (like phone number, name, ZIP, country).
  • Emails alone, especially business or inactive emails often won’t match well.
  • No enhanced match logic: Klaviyo doesn’t pre-hash or normalize data the same way as manual uploads do, so Google has less to work with.

What You Can Do to Improve Match Rate:

  1. Manually export your Klaviyo list, then upload it into Google Ads as a Customer Match audience with as many fields as possible:

  • Email
  • Phone number
  • First name / Last name
  • Country / ZIP
  1. Focus on personal emails (e.g., @gmail.com), create a Klaviyo segment filtered by email domains to test match rate separately.
  1. Clean and format your list before upload:
  • Lowercase emails
  • Add country codes to phone numbers
  • Remove invalid characters
  1. Use Enhanced Conversions in Google Ads alongside your audience targeting, this improves match quality using site visitor data.
