We use GoDaddy and Shopify. Our .cl domain was purchased through GoDaddy.

We implemented the SENDER EMAIL setup to comply with best practices, but since then, our open rate has dropped significantly.

We’re seeing a lot of conflicting information in the documentation…

Hi @almelnick, welcome to the community.

This is a bit tricky to understand what problems you might be running into, but the first place I would check is to make sure your sending domain is properly setup.  You can use one of these tools:

See if any errors popup that might be causing an issue.   Make sure you follow all the rules here:

Next, go to your Klaviyo Deliverability and check your overall deliverability health and click on the Reports tab to see if any specific inbox provider is causing an issue.  Otherwise, you can go to the “Bounce details” to look at bounce issues that you may be having.  Let us know what you’re seeing, and perhaps we can further help you troubleshoot.

Which numbers, cname, txt, do you use?

Hi @almelnick ! Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

If you are using a brand new domain, meaning you haven’t sent from that domain previously through a different platform, then you would need to go through a warming process. Warming your infrastructure trains inbox providers to view you as a good sender, and is essential any time you move to a new email service provider.

If you continue to send to your general email list instead of only your most engaged subscribers, then that could lead to low open and click rates. If you have enough engagement data, then I would suggest starting off by creating and sending to a 30 day engaged segment. I would also suggest reviewing our guide for How to warm your sending domain in Klaviyo

Once you start to see your open and click rates improve, you can expand your segment to 60 or 90 days, so you are sending to a larger engaged audience.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any follow up questions!
