Hello Community!

I’d love to hear from you: what’s the most out-of-the-box email marketing strategy you’ve used or come across that actually delivered results? Not just your standard promo or subject line test, but something a little unexpected: creative timing, unusual content, bold personalization, a unique format. Anything that made you think, “This might just be crazy enough to work.”

Feel free to share examples, ideas, or even experiments that surprised you.

Let’s get the inspiration flowing! 🔥👇

Hey @Ashley I.

we tried this for one of our clients:

"Reverse Welcome" Campaign:
Instead of the classic "Welcome! Here’s 10% off" email…

One of our brands sent an apology letter as the very first email.
Subject line: "We’re sorry. We should have introduced ourselves properly."
In the email, they told a story about being too excited and forgetting to welcome the person personally — then introduced their founder, mission, and made it super personal (no discounts or sales push yet).

Result: 50%+ open rates, huge reply rate ("Love this!" emails), and longer customer lifetime value.

Let me know what you think about this.

Best,

Arpit

This may not be the most out of the box, but in the Subscription space one that we’ve had some great success with is around purchasing patterns and when a “streak” is broken.

So for example, if we see someone has had a product in their past 2 orders but do not have it pending in their upcoming order we’ll reach out via email or SMS and say something along the lines of “Hey there we noticed that you don’t have any PRODUCT in your next order.” Sometimes we’ll play around with incentivizing adding the product to their next box via a discount, but other times simply sending the reminder about a product we’ve seen them regularly ordering is enough to get them to add it into their upcoming order.
