Hi everyone! 👋

I’m currently building a multi-step popup form in Klaviyo and I’m trying to add a simple age verification step (asking for birthdate and blocking users under 21). I’ve seen that this can be done with some custom JavaScript, but I can’t find the “Custom JavaScript” section under the Behaviors tab of my form editor.

Has anyone run into this? Is this feature only available on certain plan types or for certain kinds of forms?
Would love to know if:

  • It’s hidden somewhere I missed

  • There’s a setting I need to enable

  • Or if there’s a workaround I could try!

Appreciate any help or insight! 🙏
Thanks in advance!

Jane

Hey there. I haven’t seen this capability in Klaviyo but maybe someone can correct me.

There is a javascript function within each form, yet it’s only for custom triggers (ie: if you wanted to open a specific popup when a particular button was clicked on your website).

“Open the form based on any condition, such as on a button click or in your own code.”

Sorry thats not a better answer! Hopefully someone finds a solution.

Hi @danajane30 !

We do have an age-gate option that you can add to your forms, but this is only available for alcohol brands collecting SMS consent. If this is applicable to your company, you can follow these steps outlined in our guide to set this up: Understanding age-gating alcohol with Klaviyo

If you are not an alcohol brand, then this would require the creation of a custom form, which would be built outside of Klaviyo.

I hope this helps!
