Hello,

I am creating a newsletter in which I am attempting to drag and drop both a section and columns. While I am able to drag and drop, the resulting section does not drop at the place where I placed my cursor but at another place in the newsletter. When I try to drag the section to the desired spot, it reverts to its original position. Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi @drmaryanndiorio ,

Thanks for your message!

It sounds like the section isn’t dropping where you want it. This can happen if:

  • Your browser zoom isn’t at 100%

  • You’re using a browser that’s not fully supported

  • The template has fixed sections

Try refreshing the page, resetting zoom to 100%, or using Chrome or Firefox. If it still doesn’t work, contacting Klaviyo Support with a screenshot would be the best next step. if you want me to help you to make it done you can also reach out i will gladly help

Hope that helps!

Best,

Mike

Thanks so very much, Mike. I greatly appreciate your help. I’ll follow your instructions and let you know how I fare.

Many blessings to you!

Hi, @mike digital101 ,

Problem solved! It turns out that my template had fixed sections.

Thanks again for your great help.

Hi, Mike,

So, I have another question. I mentioned that I wasn’t able to add columns where I wanted and you suggested that my template might have fixed sections. It does.  Now my question is, Can I override the fixed sections in a template and insert columns, or do I need to start over with a new template? I’ve already done a lot of work in this template and would hate to have to start over. Is there a way to disable the fixed sections?

Thanks again.

MaryAnn

Hi @drmaryanndiorio !

Jumping in for Mike here - you wouldn’t necessarily need to start over with your template, but what you can do is add a new section block and drag half of your blocks into that new section. This will then allow you to add a new section in between the two sections, and then insert your columns into that section. I understand that this is likely confusing without images or a video showing this, so if you feel like you need a visual I would suggest reaching out to our support team and they can take a look at your specific template and record a Loom showing how to do this!

Thanks so very much, Emma, for your kind reply. I have contacted Support as you suggested.

Many thanks and blessings,

MaryAnn
