Struggling with 90% Bounce Rate in Cart Abandonment Flow – Any Solutions?

Hallo Klaviyo Community,
I’m currently facing an issue with my Cart Abandonment Flow, which has a 90% bounce rate. I’ve double-checked everything – email addresses, list hygiene, content, and settings – but I can’t seem to pinpoint the cause. I even tried deactivating Smart Sending for a while, but that didn’t help either.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any suggestions on what else I could check? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey ​@madina, 90% bounce rate is really high. Smart sending would impact skipping but is unlikely to impact your bounce rate.


Click on the email experiencing high bounce rate in your flow. Then click “View details” on performance. Next click on “Recipient Activity”. Then click “Bounced”. Change the time range to all-time or at least a long enough window to get a good sense. Take a look at the bounce type and bounce reason. 

This is going to be the best way to figure out why these emails are bouncing. Are you getting bad email signups? Or is there something wrong with your email deliverability? Check out this guide from Klaviyo for more details for understanding bounce rate.

Did you manage to find more information about your bounce reasons by looking at the recipient activity of your emails, or the Bounce details tab of your Deliverability page? That might help you diagnose the issue. Happy to answer any questions you have about these bounces.
