Hello! Our emails have amazing open rates but when it comes to click rates, we’ve seen a major dip. I Know there is a change with the inbox providers and how emails now show in the new layout with iMail, but would love some alternative tips on how to increase click rates.

We’ve tried keeping the CTA above the fold, keeping copy short and concise and creating engaging content.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @LM0721 - Great question and you’re definitely not alone in seeing a dip in click rates, especially with recent changes in how some inbox providers like iMail display emails. It sounds like you’re already doing some of the right things by keeping your CTA above the fold and using short, engaging copy but, here are a few additional strategies that might help boost clicks:

  1. Use curiosity-driven link text: Instead of generic CTAs like “Learn More” or “Shop Now,” try ones that tease value:

    • “See what everyone’s raving about”

    • “Reveal your exclusive deal”

    • “Unlock the #1 product for pain point]”

  2. Try multi-CTA layouts: Not just one button! Add secondary CTAs in your header, image captions, or hyperlinked text. Different users click different elements.

  3. Add movement or animation: A subtle animated GIF or a pulsing CTA button (as long as it’s not too flashy) can draw more attention to the click area.

  4. Segment more aggressively: Personalizing content and CTAs based on past purchase behavior, engagement level, or browsing history often gives a nice lift.

  5. A/B test button design: Test CTA color, shape, or size. Even small visual tweaks can impact clicks.

  6. Mobile-first optimization: With layout changes in mail apps, make sure your CTA is clear and tap-friendly on smaller screens. Tap targets should be at least 44px tall.

Thank you so much, Zac! These are some really helpful tips that I’ll try to implement.
