Hi @nick-giftnote! Thanks for posting – I have been meaning to reply but have been super busy. Hazel Village, the stuffed animal company where I am director of marketing, spends the first ¾ of the year planning for gifting season so these are things that I think about a lot!
I would definitely consider having incentives for the gift recipient to visit the website and shop – including a discount code at the end of the automated gift message. Incorporating some type of referral system would also be really great – if a recipient uses their discount code then the gifter gets their own discount code. This would encourage repeat purchases on both sides.
For the gift recipient – I’d recommend a flow following up asking how they’re enjoying their gift and if they have any feedback. It could even sync with a review platform.
I would also recommend making segments that take into account gift seasonality – this way you can reach back out to people who only shop in Q4 and remind them that you exist. You can also reach out to people who received gifts the prior Q4 and ask if they’re looking to buy more or gift to someone else.
Hope some of these ideas help!
