For Community Member Appreciation Week I am excited to feature some of our most active and inspiring members. I connected with Catherine (Modern Dose) to learn more about their background and advice for others, here’s what Catherine had to share:

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your business?

I’m Catherine Zhu, founder of Modern Dose, a wellness brand offering goal-specific supplement drink mixes that simplify daily health routines. We’re focused on helping people feel their best with clean, science-backed ingredients and convenient formats that support a range of health goals—including sleep, digestion, stress relief, joint health, brain health, and daily essentials.

What drew you to join the Klaviyo Community?

As a small team wearing many hats, I was looking for fast, reliable answers that went beyond the basics. I stumbled into the Klaviyo Community while troubleshooting an issue—and immediately saw how valuable it was to hear real experiences from other users. It felt less like reading a manual and more like getting a free consultation.

What has your experience been like as part of the Community?

It’s been incredibly helpful and surprisingly collaborative. People genuinely want to share their knowledge and support others. I’ve learned just as much from reading threads as I have from asking questions. There’s a strong sense of “we’re all figuring this out together.”

What value do you feel you’ve gained from being an active member?

Time saved, for one! But also a deeper understanding of Klaviyo’s capabilities, especially in real-life use cases. The Community has helped me feel more confident experimenting with features like segmentation, flows, and conditional logic—because I’ve seen how others approach similar goals.

How have you contributed to the Community, and what motivates you to stay involved?

I hope I’ve contributed by asking thoughtful questions that start helpful conversations. I know how overwhelming it can feel at the beginning, and I appreciate being part of a space that helps people work through that learning curve together.

Is there a particular feature or aspect of the Community you’ve found most helpful or enjoyable?

The way posts are threaded and tagged is actually really underrated—it makes it easy to find past answers, and the quality of those answers is consistently high.

What would you like to see more of in the Community moving forward?

More walkthroughs and real-world examples from users! Posts like “here’s how I built this flow and why,” or campaign breakdowns. Case studies can sometimes be more helpful than generalized guides.

What’s one thing you think more people should know about the Klaviyo Community?

It’s not just for beginners! Even experienced users can find creative solutions or new efficiencies from what others are sharing. It’s a great place to level up your approach.

If you were to share one piece of advice for someone starting out with Klaviyo what would it be?

Start simple. You don’t need a dozen flows on day one. Just get your welcome and abandoned cart flows live, test them, and build from there. Klaviyo is powerful, but it works best when you grow with it intentionally.

What’s something you wish someone would have told you when you started out in digital marketing?

That patience is part of the process. You can do everything “right” and still need time to see results. It’s easy to compare your beginning to someone else’s middle—but real growth comes from staying consistent, testing often, and not getting discouraged by the learning curve.

You can hear more from Catherine in the Klaviyo Community of course, and also check out her brand, Modern Dose.
