API call to get user.id based on email?

If you call Get Profiles — https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/reference/get_profiles — you can add a filter with the email address, and the response will include the profile’s internal ID. For more information please visit https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/v2024-05-15/reference/api-overview#filtering Allowed field(s)/operator(s):id: any, equalsemail: any, equals  Legend, thats exactly what I was looking for :)

Sending 2x emails to Klaviyo Identify

Hi @chrisB, You can’t pass an array of emails to the identify endpoint. You could add the other emails as custom profile properties, but the API call will fail if you try to pass an array to the email field.  damn (but figured as much) looks like i’m looping the calls and storing the ID once found into a cookie I guess...

View Item Payload to link Products to Catalog?

@KeviSunshine  yeah thats a screenshot from the Shopify Integration, so its def supported just need to figure out the structure and it should be good to go :) on a side note, if we are talking about what Klaviyo should build, they really should build a wishlist module… you could then use the data in Email flows… that would kill it, the mix is sooo wowful that im building my own (begrudgingly)

View Item Payload to link Products to Catalog?

@KeviSunshine I have the JSON structure lined up on the payload (with an image array), which is all good. I think there is a specific payload that triggers the link to display this (which is why it works with the native shopify integration). Ive dug through the payload for the events that have the catalog items displayed, but i cant figure out the structure needed, so it might be something to do with a server process (but im hoping not). PS - i would like to be able to send an icon, even if it was the favcon, it would help with identifying traffic so much :) double love if you could set anything :) please KL

Sending 2x emails to Klaviyo Identify

Hey @KeviSunshine  thanks for your thoughts and comments on this :)I think there is definitely scope to have a primary and secondary email on a profile, but I do kind of understand how it was used as a unique identifier. I think we are getting to a point that people are having more that one email and it would be good to have additional email (maybe one for transactional and another for campaign). I guess what I am trying to ascertain, is if I can send an array on the identify component, or do I need to loop the request for each one and then throw the unique ID (or email) into cookies later for storage? { "token": "PUBLIC_KEY", "properties": { "$email": ["abraham.lincoln@klaviyo.com",”a.lincoln@klaviyo.com”], "$first_name": "Abraham", "$last_name": "Lincoln", "$city": "Springfield", "$region": "Illinois" } } If we are assume they are there (under one of the emails), I would rather send a single request that iterate through the array of emails until I get a response, then send it to cook

Favcon for Custom Event

Hi @chrisB, Thank you for your question.  As far as I am aware the gear is always used for all custom integrations with the favicons reserved for pre-built integrators.  Hope that helps! Hey Saulblum,    Thanks for your reply.    Correct, I can set the unique_id myself, I guess i was wondering how the value was created, was it based on a timestamp + useragent? If you don’t explicitly set the event’s unique ID, it’s just a UNIX time stamp. thanks, understood!

Not sure, its probably a reload issue.  There are a couple of ways to cut this, but fetch() is ok if the JS supports it (or if you want to write something else).  Im not sure if the code works with the JS file in the first instance.  If it was me, I would probably send an event with the info in the datalayer, then post this to klaviyo via GTM as I could use the API to create profiles and subscribe them to different lists etc

Thanks. The emails are still added as “subscribed”, though. What value would I need for them to say “unsubscribed” or “suppressed”?  I think there are seperate endpoints to suppress and unsubscribe.  Not sure about the website, but in API side you would: POST / Create Profile SubscribedPOST / UnsubscribePOST / Suppress  Whats the point of creating a profile that is unsubscribed later on? On a side note, the script before isusing the klaviyo_subscribe.js which (i would assume) is a mirror of my previous link. if you want to create a profile without subscribing it, I would assume you would need to make something like this endpointhttps://developers.klaviyo.com/en/reference/create_profile

I don’t know about the form, but for the API it looks the values need to be as followed:$consent = SUBSCRIBED whereas you $consent is = email https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/reference/subscribe_profiles

Image array in Event Data

Hey Saulblum,  Thanks for your response. I think its worth doing. I see no reason why I cant send an array and then just reference [0] on the main image, if I don’t set a featured_image in the payload.  Looks like arrays are supported in the payload natively.

There is probably a couple of ways to do the above.  you could either hide the Div based on tag or something.  or you could adjust the snippet (based on back-in-stock) to use a different variable/etc.  ie: if it’s currently looking at the add to cart button (and the change from active to inactive), there is nothing to say you couldn’t create another button based on your logic and point the snippet to that

I think to auth with KL you will need your API details form KL. Standard api auth setup apples  if your firing the JS you only need the store code

Hey Brian, sorry I didn’t see this, bf and Christmas and all that.  thanks, let me dig into. I think it’s possible and should give overall cleaner data and lighter site weight.

Hey, I have been toying with this myself, I work on shopify as well. What are you trying to achieve specifically?I have been considering if there is value using the customer events function in shopify to trigger page events without having to load on-site pixels/etc.  im using for a custom GA4 and segment profile at the moment, but could never crack the Klaviyo side.

Hi Brian, I think I would possibly need to turn installed tracking off but I believe there is an options to fire events via to app-pixels (if the developer has allowed) access.  For a use case:I am looking at the custom events allowed in Shopify, under the general assumption that klaviyo is hitting the same events API as this is. Really, I am trying to server-side the addtocart snippet. I figure that Shopify Event API would have more data than a browser pixel for addtocarts, which in turn would allow more data to come through to Klaviyo.It also allow further deployment of custom events, and deploying them globally instead of in theme for custom events. Cheers Chris

What's the current method for removing email consent via PI?

Hey, Im new here, so might be off track… sorry if so..what platform is this?ShopifyI think shopify also syncs a marketing=false/true to the record and will update that field on change (would need to check)? Also, if you have shopify, you might be able to use webhooks on customer update as a trigger for this manual update. GeneralYou could also write a custom klaviyo event on the page that sends the event on submission of the form to klaviyo 🤷 via an eventlister.

Abandoned cart flow - multiple add to cart events for 1 user

  This screenshot, however lets say the added to cart, they would be entered into the flow. The first item they entered was a T shirt. So before 4 hours was up, lets say they added a hat to the cart. Would then the flow restart and then send the flow for the hat 4 hours later? Or would it not even fire the flow at all since it hit the filter that it added to cart 1 time since starting the flow, not zero times? @David To  Did you get anywhere with this @flogrown.trevor ?   That is the behavior that we experience in our live deployment.  The ‘hat’ resets the flow for that user, they do not get a email about the shirt and the email they get about the hat is 4 hours after the ‘hat’ add.  That is in our view the expected and ideal behavior - we don’t want to bug customers about old cart items nor email them 10 seconds after they add a new item. @cdetdi , so your flow filters are did not place order since sta
