Base64 Encoding a stringified JSON object

Hi all,I’m looking to include a number of profile properties into a b64 encoded query param for URLs to use in an email/SMS.What I am looking for is a URL that comes out like…`https://klaviyo.com?data=d3d3LmtsYXZpeW8uY29t`And this `data` property, when b64 decoded, is a JSON stringified object, such as…'{"phone": "555-555-5555", "email": "testing@example.com"}'I want to do this so my webapp can decode the single query param and then run `JSON.parse()` on it to get all of the variables within.Has anyone tried something similar? I’m running into a number of issues with creating stringified JSON objects with profile properties and b64 encoding them.I’m also running into issues with creating profile properties that include variables in them...Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!Kevin.

Conditional subject lines using template language–is it possible?

Hi all,Within a metric-based flow, I’d like to add a conditional subject line to an email.However, I’m running into two problems...First, I can’t write a subject line that exceeds 255 characters. Even though the subject would be resolved to way fewer characters, the character counter is including the template tags as characters.Second, is this even possible? Should Klaviyo support profile properties of type object?

Hey all!I’d love to be able to store profile properties using a nested object structure.For example, my company works with multiple partners and therefore we always have partner information that we store on profiles.It’d be great if I could have a single object called `partner` that contained the id, name, slug, etc. of the partner.It’d be much cleaner than holding these profile properties all top level and needing to prefix them like partner_id, partner_name, partner_slug, etc.If you could have nested profile properties, it could look like partner.id, partner.name, partner.slug, etc.Even for non-technical users, it’d be a great way to organize and store profile properties. A flat profile property structure is very difficult to maintain once there are 10, 15, 20+ properties. Let me know what you think.  Cheers,Kevin.

How does Klaviyo handle boolean fields that aren't set?

Hey all,If we have a boolean profile property and it’s not set, does that evaluate to false?If I wanted to create a conditional split in my flow for anyone where the boolean field is false or not set, do I need to add both “is false” and “is not set” or will “is false” suffice?In dev terms, is “is false” a strict check (“===”) or a loose falsy check (“==”)Let me know.Thank you.

Is there a list of bad emails and phone numbers that Klaviyo rejects?

Hi all,We have some loads that send subscribers in bulk to Klaviyo using the Subscribe Profiles to List endpoint.The problem is, if there is one bad email or phone number in the bulk load, Klaviyo will reject the full request.For example, if there’s a phone number like 999-999-9999, Klaviyo responds with an HTTP 400 and the error {"detail":"+19999999999 is not a valid phone number."}.In order to prevent a single bad phone/email from breaking our bulk loads, we’d like to filter out bad emails/phones. Is there a list of emails/phones that Klaviyo rejects?Thank you!

Email template variable for the prior month

Hi all,Simple question here: is it possible to use the built-in Klaviyo date personalization functions to get a full name for the prior month?This article explains how you can use variables like `{% current_month_name %}` to get the name of the current month (e.g., “December”).However, for my use case, I want the name of the prior month (e.g., “November”).Is this possible using the built-in date personalization functions? Feature Request: the ability to filter AND group in custom reports

Hello Klaviyo Community,I’d like to suggest a feature that would really help people understand the performance of their flows/campaigns across their user population.When creating a multi-metric report, we’d like the ability to filter by a flow, and then group the statistics by a profile property.Want to see how your “Welcome” flow performs in different states? This would be the answer. You could select the metrics you’d want to analyze, filter to just the flow you’re interested in, and then group that by a profile property (e.g., a state) to see how your flow performs across all states. I feel like this is a fairly basic feature request that would help all of us.Does this make sense? Would this be helpful?

Will Klaviyo allow trigger splits for event properties that are also profile properties?

Hi all,There’s a limitation in Klaviyo where any event property that is also used as a profile property cannot be used in a trigger split. The property just doesn’t show up in the dropdown.In my opinion, this is a product limitation that needs to be fixed. Is there any plan to fix this? Thank you,Kevin.

How to de-dupe contacts in a metric-triggered flow?

Hi all,We have some events that we trigger from the front-end (for speed–these fire off as soon as the event happens) and back-end (more reliable–prevents Klaviyo scripts from being blocked by adblockers/trackers).This results in the same user going through a metric flow twice (around the same time), and can result in duplicate emails being sent.What we’re looking for is a step in a flow to get only the unique email addresses (i.e., remove all contacts that are going through twice). Is this possible? Thank you!

409 on Profile Upsert call

Hi All,We’re using the new Klaviyo APIs. I am using the Create/Update Profile call, documented here.We hit an error this morning where Klaviyo returned a 409 Conflict error for this endpoint. { "errors": [ { "id": "134eb88b-10fb-4f65-84bc-6ea5fb2f1f2a", "status": 409, "code": "duplicate_profile", "title": "Conflict.", "detail": "A profile already exists with one of these identifiers.", "source": { "pointer": "/data/attributes" }, "links": {}, "meta": { "duplicate_profile_id": "{redacted}" } } ]} How is it possible to get a 409 Conflict error on an upsert operation? If the profile exists, why didn’t it get updated? Is this a bug? Let me know.Thank you,Kevin.
