Hi

I’m trying to clean my list to keep my costs down and I realise I’ve probably got a lot of inactive profiles. I have created this segment to potentially supress, but are there any red flags in here or anything that I’ve missed ? Am I safe to supress this whole segment?

this is my definition:

  • email is set to text
  • created at least 180 days ago
  • opened email zero times over all time
  • clicked email zero times over all time
  • active on site zero times over all time
  • viewed product zero times over all time
  • checkout starter zero times over all time
  • placed order zero times over all time

Any better recommendations welcome. I have set up a sunset flow and I will try one last attempt to move people out of this segment but just wanted to make sure I’m doing the right thing.

Hey @SMOZBOH,

That’s a good start. With that segment definition, you’ll isolate a group of profiles that have never interacted with your store or emails in any meaningful way. Maybe they subscribed at some point, or got added to your account through an ad they clicked, or via list import, but never actually engaged after that. Would definitely recommend suppressing that segment.

That being said, I think we can suppress some more people! This segment will leave out all those who DID engage with you at some point, but haven’t done so in a very long time. It would be a good idea to suppress these profiles as well - you won’t lose their data, but you’d lower your active profile count. To do this, I’d recommend creating a segment with this definition:

Created is at least 180 days ago AND

Opened email zero times in the last 180 days AND

Clicked email zero times in the last 180 days

These people may have been active on site or purchased recently, but if they’re not interacting with your emails, you won’t want to be sending them more emails in the future, so it would be a good idea to suppress these profiles too!
