Whether you’re brainstorming your next campaign, refining your brand voice, or just trying to get out of a creative rut, we all have those go-to places, people, or routines that spark new ideas.

Do you look to other brands? Scroll through social? Dive into data? Tune into a podcast? Step away from your screen entirely?

Share your favorite sources of inspiration (and any specific examples if you have them 👀). You never know what might spark someone else’s next big idea.

Drop your answers below!

Also, speaking of inspiration – check out the last two discussion threads for some great inspo:

Oh good question. I do love looking at other brands, but always out of the sector so not direct competitors. Always just logging off, reading and being outside.
Then always overlaying data and what we know about the customer to help inform and shape the campaign for success.

It’s a bit of a spectrum of things for me.

Some of it is physical and other aspects are mental.

For example for me if I’m feeling stumped or uninspired I will change my surroundings quite literally, like get up and go sit somewhere else, go for a walk/run, or even just strand up and stretch for a bit. Something as simple as switching things up for 30 seconds really helps me recalibrate.

Aside from that, I am always admiring our competitors and the subscription space overall. I sign up for as many brand’s emails as possible to see how they are choosing to send messages (or not) and how they are choosing to represent their brand overall across channels. I also really like to take my heart out of the mix when I’m feeling indecisive and letting the data make some choices for me or at least point me in the right direction, being able to leverage our analysts to help dig into customer behaviors to educate and inform my choices is huge and really helps me stay rooted and focused on what’s actually happening, not just what I hope/want to see happening. Can be great to help knock me out of whatever funk I may be in.

I’m signed up to emails from a bunch of different brands and keep them filed away by type, so when I need a specific type of email, I can look in that folder and find a bunch of good examples from the wild

Oh for me it’s similar to @B B I have signed up to a number of different brands and keep my favourite emails stored away. I also have subscribed to eComm Heads like Nik Sharma and also look to site that are email library’s for inspiration when I’m stuck. My fav is Email Donut - the data that Khaled has pulled from these emails is amazing.

I do also take inspiration across vertical, so if I see something that has been done really well in one, then I will try and apply to a different one, tweaking where necessary. But keep in mind the staples for that client and their audience.

Music always gets the inspiration flowing…..oh and a big cup of coffee and chocolate 😂
