Users subscribing and being "manually suppressed" at the same time
We have a number of users that are subscribing via our pop-up form but then being “manually suppressed” at the same time. This isn’t a user doing this as we manually suppress sunsetted contacts once every three months. Can anyone explain what’s happening here? It’s alarming that we could have a number of users that wanted to subscribe but are being suppressed.
Thanks!

@MillieC94 if you clicked on the profile and expanded the consent section screenshotted below:
What does it reveal?
Moreover is this a Klaviyo pop up form. Would it be possible to share the link to the website where the pop up form is hosted?
@whereisjad thanks for reaching out! Details below.
It is a Klaviyo pop-up form. It’s strange that the timestamp for sign up to suppression is 7 seconds…
The website is www.veloforte.com - not sure if specifics are needed but this particular profile submitted the mobile version of the pop-up (not desktop).
@MillieC94 I just tried to subscribe using my phone. Are you referring to the embedded form at the bottom of the site or the pop up that promises 20% off discount?
I received the welcome series email for both forms and entered separate email addresses for each.
Could it be that the suppressed users are isolated incidents, perhaps due to the provided email addresses bouncing? How frequently are you experiencing this type of scenario?
@whereisjad Thank you, it’s the 20% pop up that users are coming through.
We’re seeing about 10 per month, which isn’t a lot but it doesn’t make sense. I’ve logged it with Klaviyo Support and a Klaviyo representative has responded saying it’s a security feature:
“We usually manually suppress (user suppress) on the back end IF the profile: 1. signed up pretty immediately for other Klaviyo accounts which screams spam/fake email to our system 2. signed up for the same form too many times with different emails but we recognize the same IP
As a result we automatically suppress them because they are likely either fake emails or the customer didn't actually subscribe on their own/it was a bot. IF the customer resubscribes in the future via another method, the suppression WILL be removed. But in the meantime they will be suppressed because they were flagged by our security feature.”
However one user has signed up and been suppressed that I know and they’re not a fake email or signed up to the same form so it’s really odd.
@MillieC94 could you report that specific example to the same Support ticket?
@whereisjad I did with a couple of others and the above was the response… not sure what else to do now!
