We are using Klaviyo with Shopify and was wondering if there is any way to update the “Started Checkout” event to include additional attributes for each product included in the checkout.

For example for each line_item we would like to add a value stored in a metafield.

Hi @Constantin,

Thanks for sharing this question with us.

My colleague David, speaks to this concept for WooCommerce in the thread below (the same theory applies to Shopify as well). In short, Klaviyo isn’t able to alter the data passed on to us from our ecommerce integrations. Instead, you can use our API docs (specifically the Track API) to send us a custom event including the data of your choosing. There is additional documentation linked in that thread as well.

I hope that’s helpful and thanks for being a member of our community.
