I’m trying to get revenue through api and for that i’m fetching the timeline data of ‘Placed Orders’ metric (using this endpoint `/api/v1/metric/${metricId}/timeline`) and summing up `event_properties.$value` but the number is significantly different from what i see in the dashboard, any reason for that?

Do you mind sharing which dashboard you’re referring to? Several different dashboards are available in the Klaviyo UI, so it will help myself and other Community members obtain more context on the issue.
I also noticed that you’re using the v1 /metric endpoint, and I would highly recommend our new v3 Query Metric Aggregates instead, since the legacy endpoints will be depreciated at the end of 2023.
The Query Metric Aggregates has a number of use cases that are highlighted in this guide, including retrieving revenue from Placed Order metrics:
