Hi there,

i have set up the static domain (branded sending domain).

I am currently using the free plan. The emails sent out by Klaviyo still use the shared domain.

Is the dedicated IP only available with the paid plans? And if so from which volume?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @SJB! Dedicated/shared IP address is not the same thing as a branded sending domain. This is a common point of confusion! Both are factors in your deliverability but have different functions and their own reputation scores.

Mailbox providers look at your overall reputation, including your IP's, when determining where to place an email (inbox, spam, etc). The IP reputation, domain reputation, recipient positive and negative engagements are just a few of the factors that influence your overall deliverability. Sending from a shared IP address means that you will send alongside several other Klaviyo customers, which also means a shared sending reputation. This is different than your domain reputation which is unique to your branded sending domain.

Moving to a dedicated IP address is an option for paid customers that meet a high volume send criteria and are approved on a case-by-case basis. All accounts, free and paid, can (and should) update to a branded sending domain. Here’s some more info on these topics:

Hi Kaila,

thank’s for your reply.

How high is the send volume to be eligible for a dedicated IP?

kind regards

@SJB The minimum send volume is 1 million marketing emails per month (not including transactional emails), in addition to meeting certain benchmarks for open, conversion, bounce, and spam complaint rates. Your Customer Success Manager can share more details about the process!
