Yesterday's Austin Klaviyo Meetup attendees workshopped list growth strategies leveraging digital lead magnets and giveaways as an alternative to the ecom-standard offer of a discount on the first order.

We also discussed things like when it is appropriate to offer a discount, what kind of discount do you give? A percentage on the whole order, or a set dollar amount?

For alternative list growth plays, we did a group exercise, breaking people up into pairs. Here are two examples from our attendees:

Eva brought a unique dilemma for her brand, Shār.

>> When plastic-free packaging is a core value of the brand, that narrows the options for brands you can viably collaborate with. So how do you find that best-fit?

Stephanie brought an evergreen challenge for something new she's testing with her brand, Ouli's Ointments.

>> When you leverage content creators and referrals, what's the best kind of funnel to nurture customers from winning a virtual beauty consult, to then adopting the product with an ecommerce order?

You can view the examples we discussed (plus exciting new Klaviyo features) in our deck here.

Pro-tip: Check out the slide featuring an SMS-exclusive list growth strategy from Fellow.

It's a masterclass in how to create editorial content that's interesting to your super-fans, while also creating an exclusive opportunity for cross-selling.

When you attend a Klaviyo meetup, you get the chance to workshop things like this live in person with fellow marketers from local brands and agencies.

Yesterday’s attendees got to brainstorm ideas for what kinds of brand partners would be a good fit for each company in attendance. If you were going to do a giveaway collaboration for list growth, what kind of brand would you choose to partner with?
