@CAC great question, and welcome to the forum!
The short answer is that it is not possible to embed a PDF directly into an email so that it is viewable and interactive within the inbox.
Email clients (like Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail) do not support the embedding of PDFs for security and technical reasons. Even if you could, the multiple links you have inside the PDF would not work once it is displayed as a preview.
However, here are some tips for you to explore:
Canva has a direct integration with Klaviyo. Instead of exporting a PDF, you can "Publish" your Canva design directly to your Klaviyo Image Library.
In Canva, click Share > More > search for Klaviyo.
This sends the design as an image. You would still need to add the links manually to the images once you are inside the Klaviyo editor.
This one’s similar to what you’re already doing. Since your newsletter has multiple links, you shouldn’t use one giant PNG. You should "slice" your Canva design into logical sections (e.g., Header, Article 1, Article 2, Shop Promo).
In Canva, export each "section" or page as an individual high-quality PNG.
Drag an Image Block into your template for each section.
You can now add a unique URL to every specific image. If a user clicks the "Store" section of your image, it takes them straight to the store, rather than opening a PDF where they have to click again.
Finally, here’s what I’d do.
PDFs are generally poor for email marketing because they aren't mobile-responsive, they are often blocked by filters, and you can't track which specific articles people are reading.
If you want to stick to your very long, beautiful PDF, and you want people to see in its full glory, you can also use the "Teaser Strategy":
-
In your Klaviyo email, feature the top 2 articles with a nice image and a "Read More" button.
-
At the bottom, add a high-quality thumbnail of the newsletter cover with a button that says "Download Full PDF Version."
-
This gets people to your website (good for SEO) while giving them the convenience of reading the highlights directly in the email.
Let me know if any of this makes sense!
