My client has a page on their website where wholesale companies can register for a “Wholesale” account. When they register their profile is added to WooComerce.
My client had a Zap with a previous marketing company that would take wholesale customers in WooCommerce by checking whether the Customer Role text contained the words “Wholesale” (wholesale customers were tagged with the words “wholesale”) and if they were, were added to a Klaviyo list called “Wholesale Imported”.
I've tried to recreate this Zap, but for some reason it's not finding wholesale customers.
I’ve copied the Zap almost exactly, the only difference is the previous Zap had the action “Add Subscriber (Legacy)”. This action no longer exists, I can only find “Add Profile” or “Create or Update Profile”. None of these new actions seem to work.
It sounds like the key issue might be in the specific action you are using in Zapier to add wholesale customers to the Klaviyo list.
"Create or Update Profile" in Klaviyo essentially serves the same purpose as the deprecated “Add Subscriber (Legacy)” action. It allows you to add a new profile or update an existing profile in Klaviyo.
Guide to recreate the zap:
Trigger:
App & event: WooCommerce
Trigger event: New customer
Trigger setup:
Select your WooCommerce account.
Test the trigger to ensure it pulls in customer data correctly.
Filter by Customer Role:
Add a filter step in Zapier:
Filter setup: Only continue if... ‘Customer Role’ ‘Text Contains’ ‘wholesale’.
Action: Klaviyo
App & event: Klaviyo
Action event: Create or update profile
Action Setup:
Select your Klaviyo account.
Set up the Profile data:
Email: Map this to the email field from WooCommerce.
First Name: Map this to the first name field from WooCommerce.
Last Name: Map this to the last name field from WooCommerce.
Add any other relevant fields.
Add to List:
List: Choose the "Wholesale Imported" list.
Troubleshooting tips:
Test each step: After setting up the trigger, test it to ensure it pulls in the correct customer data. Do the same for the filter and the action steps.
Check filter conditions: Check that the filter condition accurately matches the Customer Role text. It should be set to "Text Contains" and the value should be "wholesale".
Correct field mapping: Double-check the field mappings in the Klaviyo action step. Make sure the email and other profile details are correctly mapped from WooCommerce to Klaviyo.
Check the integration: Sometimes, API changes can affect how actions work. Ensure that your Klaviyo integration is up-to-date and that the "Create or Update Profile" action is correctly set to add profiles to your list.
Use Zapier’s built-in tools: Utilize Zapier’s testing tools to check each step. This can help identify where the problem lies.
Hopefully this helps to identify any issues with the setup.
