I run a subscription based business and want to send an email that reminds people 5 days before their subscription ends.  How would I set up the flow, knowing different people will have different renewal dates

Hi, if the subscription end date is stored as a profile property, you should be able to use a “date property-triggered flow”, instructions here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002732652-How-to-create-a-date-property-triggered-flow

Does that work for your use case?

Hi @DWant,

I don’t think it’s possible to setup a flow to wait until a specific date or wait until X days before a specific date. I’ve asked Klaviyo support about this before and they told me it’s a much requested feature but not something they’ve been able to build yet (I couldn’t find the thread, my apologies).

However, from my experience of working with Klaviyo, I think you could achieve this with a dynamic segment that feeds a flow. The renewal date would need to be a profile property.

  1. Setup a segment that looks for “where profile.renewal_date is in the next 5 days.”
  2. Setup a corresponding flow that’s based on this segment.

That is the approach I would take.

I’m curious to know how other people deal with this very common marketing use case!

Cheers,

Kevin.

I’ll look into the segment option.

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the direction.

In order to send out reminders about their subscription you need to have that data added to a profile property about their subscription like if a subscrption is active or pauzed, when the renewal date is or when it started, what the products are (if any). Based on the date you should be able to trigger the emails.
