Back in Stock flow for discontinued products

I have a Back in Stock flow that seems to be working fine. However, what happens if a product gets discontinued? Would interested customers get an email that tells them the product they were interested in is now unavailable? Or would they just stay on the waiting list?

Hi @AnnaE, welcome to the community!

The Back in Stock Flow is triggered based on your Back in Stock minimum inventory rules and customer notifcation rules settings for your account.  So if an item is never restocked, then the Flow will never be triggered and those users will stay on the waiting List as you mentioned.

You can if you’d like, build a Segment of users that have “Subscribed to Back in Stock” for a specific Product (by Sku, Name, or Product ID) or other attributes and send them a dedicated Campaign email if you want to notify them that a product is discontinued and recommend another product.

Here’s some Klaviyo documentation that might be helpful:

Hope this helps!

Hi Joseph, dedicated segments seem to be the way to go! Many thanks for your help :)
