Single Campaign Shows as 2 in GA (not an AB test)

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Hi there--a few times now a campaign I’ve sent has shown up as two separate campaigns in GA with slightly different names (e.g. “black+tort+bis+— miklos+&+porgy” and “black tort bis — miklos & porgy”. These aren’t AB tests so I have no idea why this is happening. Not a huge deal but makes reporting a little more tedious. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Hi @Becky C !

Super weird! I haven’t personally experienced this before in Google Analytics, but have you checked to see if you have used two different links or UTM parameters in your campaign? This could be checked by clicking different elements in your campaign to see if the URLs change from element to element.

There are some known discrepancies between GA and Klaviyo, so this could also be contributing here.

Hi @Becky C

Just to add to @Ashley I. comment, I have seen this before in GA3/GA4 for a Facebook Ad campaign.

I seem to remember I cleaned this up by ensuring there were no whitespaces in the campaign/UTM values.

For Klaviyo (and other traffic sources) I always make sure the campaign name is something like this: summer_promo_230822 and simuilar for other UTM values which works for me in GA.

Hope that helps

Andy
