Legacy form error "invalid email address"

hey @arianavmac ! can you try changing the email input in the form html. the name attribute should be lowercase “email” and it looks like you have uppercase “Email”change this<input type="email" class="w-input" maxlength="256" name="Email" data-name="Email" placeholder="" id="k_id_email" required=""/>to this<input type="email" class="w-input" maxlength="256" name="email" data-name="Email" placeholder="" id="k_id_email" required=""/> let me know if making that change fixes it for you!

@arianavmac It looks like it did work for you, I think I saw some test emails of yours on the list. Double check to see if they are there or you could try testing the form again today with a new email to see if it works for you this time.

Hello @arianavmac, I just tested the form and it looks like I was added to the list. Are you sure it isn’t working? I tested with jokl@gmail.com if you want to check the profile.

@arianavmac hmm, it does mention an ajax post request in the article as well so perhaps that is incorrect? can you see the request being made in the network tab of your dev tools?

You should be making a POST request from the form. Here’s an article that you can use as reference if you haven’t seen it already: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005249548-How-to-Add-and-Customize-a-Legacy-Popup For the “success” function, you can see it should be running after the POST request: success: optional, function. Set a custom function to run on a successful AJAX post. It looks like you have customized the code in some way so perhaps you want to fully control the form and where it sends data to instead of relying on Klaviyo’s code to do it for you?

@arianavmac is your form making a POST request? You may want to also remove the GET method attribute and the URL action that it is opening.

@arianavmac you may want to open a new topic instead of adding to this one since it seems like you are facing a different issue. feel free to tag me in it and I can help you there. it sounds like there may be some attribute on the form that you’ll need to remover like data-ajax-submit or something like that.

How can I pass a custom event through a legacy form?

@arianavmac is the identify call working? If not, make sure that the email variable actually has a valid email address assigned to it. If the identify call is working, you’ll want to pass the track invocation as a callback to identify in the fourth argument position. Here’s an example: function onIdentifyCompleteCallback () { _learnq.track("Custom Event");}_learnq.identify(identityProperties, undefined, undefined, onIdentifyCompleteCallback)The identify request needs to complete before you can use _learnq to track an event, passing the track call as the fourth argument in this way will ensure it happens at the correct time.

You’ll have to make the requests over HTTPS for them to work. Whether that is enforcing HTTPS for your dev environment, proxying the requests through an HTTPS layer, or waiting until you are in your prod environment to test the requests. You could also try to make the requests with Postman or something outside of your site just to test that they will work with the structure you are using.

@Iain It may not be showing to you if your historical sync never ran in the first place. Instead can you remove the integration and then add it again? Adding it should enable the historical sync to attempt to run again as well. You’ll have to fully remove it instead of just disabling it.

@Iain It could be that the sync from last time is stuck, if you can click “Re-Import Historical Data” that should get things moving again if the integration is healthy.For your second question, you need an active Shopify integration to be able to use the ReCharge integration. You can configure your Shopify integration to not track users on your site by removing the onsite javascript. You can also uncheck the “Collect email subscribers” box if you don’t want to subscribe every customer that opts-in during checkout.  What would probably be best though is to continue collecting data from Shopify in case you ever decide you do want to use it. The ReCharge metrics should show up as their own metrics not tied to your Shopify metrics, so if you only want to use Klaviyo to contact your subscription customers, you should only build Flows based around those ReCharge metrics you want to use and just ignore the Shopify metrics in your account until you decide that you want to use them.

@Iain what does the integration look like on this page? https://www.klaviyo.com/integrations Does it have a green bar next to it or does it say ‘sync in progress’ or anything like that? If you can click “Re-Import Historical Data” towards the bottom of the page it should kick off your historical sync. If that can run then the integration should be good to go and you can try re-creating the ReCharge one again.

@Iain is seems that your Shopify integration may have been disabled. Can you go back to the integration in Klaviyo and re-enable it if that is the case? Once that is active, you should be able to try creating the integration through ReCharge again but it likely won’t work if your Shopify integration is disabled when you try to create it.

Subscribing user to a list using the API

@JulienLdt What are you getting back as a response aside from the 200 status code? Are you getting back an empty array? If the list is set to double opt-in, the profile won’t be added until they confirm via the confirmation email. If the response is an empty array then that is what is happening. You can try making a request for an email that you have access to so you can see if you are getting the double opt-in email and once you confirm, see if you get added to the list.

@aereid If you are submitting the legacy form to the https://manage.kmail-lists.com/ajax/subscriptions/subscribe endpoint with the FormData, nothing about that needs to change. All you will want to do to create a custom event is to leverage _learnq and feed it any data that you want to record about the event. If you already have our onsite javascript, _learnq should be available to you. https://apidocs.klaviyo.com/reference/javascript-client-library

Salesforce Cart Integration getting warning and not working

@luiz.menescal@improove.pt I don’t believe the duplicate JS will prevent anything from functioning properly. Are you able to see that _learnq is defined in the console after adding something to your cart? Can you check if there is a klParsedData object defined in the console if _learnq is defined to see if there is any relevant data about what event Klaviyo is tracking?

Back in Stock API

Hello @bethanybp , there shouldn’t be much difference between ajax, axios, or fetch. You’ll just need to use the correct terminology when building out the request. The data in the payload should be the same but the different technologies use certain terms to indicate the HTTP verb for instance. jQuery uses “type” where fetch uses “method”. Just reference the docs for fetch and you should be able to translate the ajax example. If you run into a specific error feel free to post it here.
