Determining value of email subscribers vs conversions on landing page

I have a client who has a very successful landing page funnel. When someone starts checkout, there is an API call to add that profile to a list called “prospect list” although these profiles have not subscribed to email marketing. People on the prospect list will go through an abandoned checkout flow. What we’d like to determine is the value of subscribers who join the email list through the website and then buy, vs customers who place an order directly on the lander without subscribing to email. I’m struggling with the best way to collect this information accurately. It’s August, and if you haven’t started thinking about BFCM, (Black Friday Cyber Monday for the non-initiates) yet, then this article is for YOU.  BFCM season means that customers are expecting something special. However, with so many paths to take, how do you know what offers will work and which ones will drive the most revenue for you? The types of offers to try  There are several types of offers to choose from, and 6 years running BFCM campaigns has taught me that you should have at least two different offers. For example, these can be separate Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers, a VIP offer vs. everyone-else offer, or a primary offer then a secondary offer for people who buy early. Dynamic images with 29Next

Hello wonderful Klaviyo community! I have a client who uses the store platform 29Next, and recently the abandoned cart dynamic images stopped populating. When I look at the preview, there is no property for an image. This is the code that was used (prior to my starting with this client) to pull up the dynamic images, but they aren’t populating anymore. {% if event.CheckoutURL|slice:"0:21" == "https://www.nanosocks" %}{{ item.ImageURL }}{% else %}{{ event.ImageURL }}{% endif %} ny insight into how I could fix this would be wonderful. Long links of images being flagged for deliverability?

Hi superusers! We use Glock apps for testing deliverability, and often when we see deliverability issues, one of the recommendations from the app is to reduce the length of images links (ie. the link to where the image is stored in Klaviyo, not what the image links to). Since we can’t control the length of those links, wondering if anyone has found a solution to address this?  Thanks for your advice!

How does Klaviyo track spam complaints: by average or by total complaints?

I noticed a big spike in spam complaint rate for one of my clients. Upon investigation, I determined that the high spam complaint rate was due to 1 person in 1 flow email that didn’t have a lot of recipients, thus, the “average” spam complaint rate was very high for that week.  I’m wondering if the high average spam complaint rate will negatively impact deliverability, even though in reality it was only 1 subscriber.

Checkout Started Rate

Hello,I’m running an email funnel by campaign custom report, and I want to make sure I understand the data correctly. When I see a metric for checkout started rate and I’m comparing it to placed order rate, are all checkout started events considered part of the checkout started rate, or are they only counting uncompleted started checkouts that did not go onto place an order?To simplify with whole numbers, if I see 4 people started checkout after viewing an email campaign, and 4 people placed an order for the same campaign, does that mean 100% of people who started checkout went on to complete the checkout? Or does it mean that 8 people started checking out, and only 4 people finished checking out, giving me a dropout rate of 50%? Thanks for any clarification on this!

SMS Organization Prefix - Does it have to be the company name?

Hi Klaviyo community!One of my clients wants to try sending SMS where instead of the normal organizational prefix (example: Company name: Here’s my SMS message) they want to use their names instead. I looked through Klaviyo documentation and could only find that it is highly recommended to use the organization prefix to help people identify who the text is from, but my client is really keen to try using their names instead (they are using SMS to build community). I thought we might try with an MMS where the image has the company logo on it (so it’s clear who the message is from) - are there any reasons why it would be a terrible idea to use a name instead of the organization prefix? (example: Person’s name: Here’s my SMS message) Thanks for any advice!

Flow Tricks & Tips

Hi Klaviyo Community! Just wanted to share a couple tricks I’ve learned to make managing flows easier.  Don’t leave subscribers behind when sunsetting a flow  When you are retiring a flow, you don’t want to lose anyone who is already going through the flow (ie. in the queue for any of the emails within the flow). To prevent new subscribers from entering the flow, create a conditional split at the top of the flow with a random sample of 0%. This way, 0% of subscribers will go down the “yes” path (ie. through the flow) and 100% of subscribers will go down the “no” path, which leads nowhere. This way, anyone currently going through the flow will still finish it. Once you have no more subscribers in waiting status for any of the emails in the flow, you can completely retire the flow.  Don’t delete your flow variants When you’ve finished a test in a flow, don’t delete the variants or you’ll lose all that great data! Instead, just turn the variant to draft status - that way you can always go
