Hi there,

Need some help. I've created a sign up form on the website that automatically applies custom discount code for each customer in their cart.

I would also like to send this customer a Welcome email with their own specific discount code.

I’ve set up the welcome flow BUT how do I include each clients specific discount code instead of a generic “welcome15’?

Hi there,

Great to hear you're setting up a sign-up form with automatic discount codes! Assuming you use Shopify - to send a unique discount code in your Welcome email instead of a generic one, you can create single-use coupon codes in Klaviyo that are automatically generated and unique for each customer. Here’s how to set it up:

Steps to Set Up Unique Discount Codes in Klaviyo:

  1. Create a Unique Coupon in Klaviyo:

    • Navigate to Content > Coupons in Klaviyo and click Create Shopify Coupon.
    • Set the properties of your coupon:
      • Name: Give it a name (e.g., “WelcomeDiscount”).
      • Prefix: You can add a prefix to each code (e.g., WELCOME), but each customer will still receive a unique code.
      • Discount Type: Choose whether the discount is a fixed amount, a percentage off, or free shipping. You can also specify if it applies to certain products or collections. example we have it set up for some codes can only be used on full price items.
  2. Configure Expiration and Activation:

    • You can set the coupon to be valid for a certain period (e.g., 7 days) or have no expiration date.
  3. Add the Unique Coupon Code to Your Welcome Email:

    • In the Welcome flow email, include the following tag where you want the coupon to appear in your text block:

      {% coupon_code 'NAME_OF_YOUR_COUPON' %}

      • Replace NAME_OF_YOUR_COUPON with the exact name of the coupon you created in Klaviyo (e.g., “WelcomeDiscount”). This will ensure each customer receives their own unique discount code.
  4. Test Your Flow:

    • Before going live, test the flow by triggering it yourself (e.g., by filling out the sign-up form). Klaviyo will generate a unique code for you, and you’ll be able to see it in the email preview.

For more detailed instructions on generating and using unique discount codes, you can check out this guide from Klaviyo: Create Single-Use Coupon Codes in Klaviyo.

Cheers!

Hi There I’ve been setting this up, but I get one single code discount at the success of the sign up and another single code discount on the email, Can it be the same per email?
