How do I make a birthday sign up form? 'Birthday' is not in the 'profile properties'

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello. I want to collect birthdays in my opt-in form. But somehow I don't see ‘birthday’ in the properties or in the list. How can I still collect the dates and still have the data correct in the customer profiles?

Would like to hear from someone! Thanks

Hello @Candywrap!

Thank you for being part of the Klaviyo community and for your questions.

Birthday is a custom property that has to be created by you. It’s not a “native” metric.

You can simply type it into the box as shown below… It says “Search or add new...” and it will prompt you to create it.

You can also follow the steps in this Klaviyo help file: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000250912

Hope that helps!

Thanks,

Alexandra 😊

Hi there @Candywrap

The only thing I would add to Alexandra’s comment is to make sure you’re recording the date correctly as YYYY-MM-DD or MM/DD/YYYY as Klaviyo requires a specific date format  to be used for date-triggered flows,  a.k.a birthday flows!
