Hello,

I've been trying to solve this problem for several days now and I can't seem to find a solution.

Context: I've created a flow, obtaining emails is done via a pop-up, the emails obtained are added to a specific list, as soon as a new email is added to this list an email is sent without delay.

The problem: no email is sent, in the deliverability section there's an “external error” bounce error.

According to what I've read here and on other forums etc, the problem may be that I don't have a brand domain connected.

I have tried to connect a sub-domain of my main domain with the indicated parameters (DNS registration) but each time 1 record is not detected even though it is present.

Diagram: root domain -> domain-example.com -> brand domain -> send.domain-example.com and I add the indicated parameters to send.domain-example.com.

I would like your help to understand if the problem comes from here and if so how to connect this subdomain and have my emails sent.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @FriedmanLunique,

Sorry that you’re having trouble fully connecting your Branded Sending Domain! One of your records is not verifying in Klaviyo, correct? In order to figure out where this issue comes from, I’d recommend using a 3rd party tool like https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx to check and see if your record is verifying in general, to determine if this issue is specific to Klaviyo. For example, if you’re using CNAMEs, you’d enter send.domain-example.com into the CNAME lookup to see if mxtoolbox can find that CNAME record.

If not, you’ll want to double check how that record looks in your DNS provider. Are there any errors/issues with how you entered it? If it looks correct, I’d reach out to your DNS provider and let them know that you added the record correctly, but that it’s not being recognized by any external sources, so you can work together to determine why this is happening.

That being said, if your record IS verifying on 3rd party tools, then you may want to reach out to our support team at Klaviyo.com/support, so we can work to see why Klaviyo isn’t recognizing it.

If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
