Whenever you add a custom range to the Subscriber Growth Dashboard, it says “vs previous period.” What is the previous period?

Is there a way to customize this so we could define the previous period?

Hi @starfox221,

In this case, the previous period refers to the previous time frame the same length as the current time frame. For example, if today is 3/31, and you’re looking at subscriber growth over the last 7 days, the current period is 3/15-3/31 and the previous period is 3/18-3/24. If you’re looking to set up a custom previous period, you can set a custom date range, and the previous period will be the equivalent length of time that came directly before that date range.

Thanks Byrne. My goal would be to look at YoY comparsions--

so for instance, if I set the custom as 1/1/2026 - 3/31/2026, would it look at that as 10/1/2025 - 12/31/25 since that was the closest “previous period?”, not 1/1/2025 - 3/31/2025?

In that case, it would look at 10/1/25-12/31/25, since that’s the closest 3 month period. The quickest way at the moment to compare it to those 3 months of the previous year would be to make note of the subscriber growth between 1/1/26-3/31/26, and then changed the custom range, so it reflects those months of the past year. I understand this is a more manual process, so I’m happy to reach out to our product team to recommend we add a feature that allows comparisons to the same range of the previous year.

Yeah that makes sense Byrne, thank you. I think that would be a helpful addition to the metric.
