While Klaviyo was built to empower creators and make it easy to build amazing marketing experiences, we know developing top-of-the-line strategies takes time – and time is hard to come by these days (and every other day).
Luckily, Klaviyo has an entire community of agencies, consultants, and developers to help you achieve your growth goals. Read on for tips to consider when thinking about hiring outside help – or when you should consider a third-party for marketing services.
When to consider hiring a Klaviyo Partner:
-
Your brand is growing and you’re looking for ways to maximize your momentum.
-
You can’t devote any more time to further build out your strategy.
-
You’re looking to seamlessly align new or multiple marketing channels.
-
Your growth has plateaued and you want help getting your business to the next level.
-
You feel overwhelmed with digital marketing and want experts to support this aspect of your business.
-
You simply want an expert to do the job for you — and do it well.
Selecting the right Klaviyo Partner:
Once you’ve determined it’s a good time to bring in an expert, consider the following to narrow down your search:
-
Is location important?
-
Would you rather be in the same time zone, or is it okay for a lag between communications?
-
-
What services do you need help with?
-
There are a lot of agencies out there so be pointed when you’re looking for the right fit. Are you looking for email marketing services? If so, does that mean total management of your Klaviyo account or just sprucing up some flows? Will you need an expert that can provide more than just email services further down the line? Think about what gaps you’re trying to fill and be as specific as possible.
-
-
How much budget do you have allocated for hiring help?
-
Klaviyo Partners come in all shapes and sizes, and similarly, have different price points. Consider whether or not you are looking for help with a one-time project, or would want someone on retainer for a set period of time:
-
One-time projects are great for getting a specific job done, but may have a larger upfront cost. Project-based work is also limited to the scope of work that has been defined, so additional asks (and time spent) usually means additional dollars required.
-
Retainer contracts are great if you’re looking to hire someone to fill a need, in lieu of hiring in-house headcount. These ongoing engagements usually involve a one-time setup fee and a recurring retainer fee.
-
-
With those details in mind, the next step is actually finding the right Klaviyo Partner for the job. Head over to the Klaviyo Partner Directory where you can filter the listings based on the details you’ve decided on.

Deciphering Partner Tiers and Who’s Who…
Like most other partner programs, Klaviyo’s Partner Program is structured with a set of requirements that help us calculate Partner Tier Status.
Today, tier status is mainly determined by the total amount of the accounts they’re actively managing within Klaviyo (specifically providing email marketing services) and/or the amount of new business they’ve referred to Klaviyo (advising their clients to choose Klaviyo for their marketing needs). In addition to those two prerequisites, partner status is also determined by the training requirements that must be completed.
Who’s who?
Partners who are considered ‘Advisors’ are actively providing marketing services for their clients and have recommended their clients use Klaviyo, but haven’t acknowledged any Klaviyo accounts that they’re directly managing.
‘Klaviyo Masters’ have reached the minimum requirement threshold for both managed and referred Klaviyo accounts.
Which Tier is the best to work with?
Our take: tier shouldn’t limit which partner you consider working with.
Although our top tiered partners (Gold, Platinum, Elite) have proven their skills, experience, and investment in Klaviyo – that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re the best fit for every job. In fact, some of our smallest partners provide the best services depending on the need.
TLDR;
If you’re stressed on time and thinking about hiring a third party to achieve your business goals, there are thousands of Klaviyo Partners that serve businesses of all shapes and sizes – and our team is happy to help you to find the right match.
