The Digital Marketing Manager, Campaigns & Retention is a critical, newly created role that will own and lead communication channels to increase engagement and revenue with our E-Cloth community across the US, CAN, UK, and other geographic markets in which we participate. This individual will manage retention platforms, including email and SMS, coordinate content creation, and provide strong input in the on-site, social, ad, and promotion schedule. The successful candidate in this role has experience with content creation, creating briefs for imagery and copy needs, managing a campaign calendar, and learning and optimizing digital platforms with a drive towards conversions. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this individual will work collaboratively across the marketing team to manage all retention efforts for the B2C segment of our audience.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and providing input for the day-to-day operations of digital communication platforms, such as klaviyo email, klaviyo SMS, Shopify content, social content, and advertising content.
- Own the strategy and campaign/promotional calendar for B2C communications.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams to produce content for email campaigns and serve as the project manager to ensure timeliness and quality-checks are on track.
- Develop and prepare to execute a 2021 plan that is data-driven, customer centric, and aligned with product and marketing roadmaps.
- Continuously execute A/B tests to measure and improve performance of this channel.
- Perform segmentation of the retention audience and understand how to communicate to each division.
- Create metric dashboards and reporting to communicate the marketing performance of retention channels within the company.
- Effectively communicate channel performance and test learnings to the broader marketing team, to cross-functional partners, and to leadership.
- Evaluate promotions and offerings to establish an analytical perspective of discount cost to inform the short and long-term campaign strategy.
- Evaluate metrics to offer a data-driven perspective on communication frequency, sending times, audience segmentation, subject line optimization, and other email benchmarks.
- Understand, create, and test email automation flows, triggers, and email content to elicit the most effective results.
- Own the budget, tracking strategy, and reporting dashboard related to sales and spend on retention marketing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree a plus.
- 3-5 years e-commerce experience.
- Ability to independently learn new tools/products/technology; to draw insights and make material recommendations to support growing the business.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external colleagues and partners.
- Ability to balance shifting priorities and maintain strong sense of urgency.
- Digitally savvy, hungry to investigate and adopt appropriate emerging martech/salestech tools to get the job done.
- Exceptional writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft office applications.
- Related business experience that demonstrates strong analytics, strategy development, and organization skill.
- Deep understanding of communication and channels like Klayvio, social media marketing, and others with an excitement to quickly learn about the latest industry trends and strategies.
- Experience with content calendars, promotions and campaigns, and email automation.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to make decisions, identify audience segments, and present findings internally.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a Shopify environment.
- Basic knowledge of HTML.
- Prior experience at an ecommerce and/or D2C brand managing advertising spend.
- Prior experience with a consumer products brand operating across brand website, Amazon, and bricks-and-mortar retail distribution.
