I'm currently setting up a hosted custom catalog feed on our end, to be consumed by Klaviyo.

When I try to add it in the Catalog -> Custom Sources area, as detailed in this article: https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/docs/guide-to-syncing-a-custom-catalog-feed-to-klaviyo I get an error, see image here: https://i.imgur.com/08zmbjd.png

The XML structure is an exact copy of the XML example from the github, also mentioned in the article - link here: https://github.com/klaviyo/devportal/blob/master/custom_catalog_example.xml

Can anyone elaborate on why it’s not accepted?

Hello @demo-test,

Welcome to the Klaviyo Community!

I’ve included the error message you’re seeing below in case other Community members run into the same issue:

Klaviyo is unable to sync data from your custom catalog feed.
We are unable to reliably access a valid feed at the URL provided. Please review your feed source to ensure your JSON or XML feed is accessible, and then refresh your sync. If you have any questions, please check out our support resources for further assistance.

Our error messages are oftentimes very specific and will point out what needs to be investigated. This error message indicates that Klaviyo is unable to access the designed Source URL of where your feed is hosted. In my experience, we typically see this if the source is password protected or has some layer of security/protection that may prevent the feed from being accessible. For this reason, we offer the ability to provide a username and password.

Overall, I would suggest reviewing the source of where you’ve hosted the custom catalog feed.

I hope this helps!

David
