Bostonians, share your local insider knowledge! First-timers, what else do you want to know?

Here’s mine:

• Coffee: close and convenient rec from me is Blue Bottle and a bit further is Thinking Cup Cafe… Also, I must admit that am a Dunkin’ girl through and through, so that’s what I will likely have in my hand if you see me
• Restaurants: I love Earls in the Prudential Center, and my favorite dinner that is a bit more upscale with the best spicy cucumber margarita is Lolita
• Activity: walking along Newbury Street is classic
• People are nicer than NYC - don’t be afraid to ask a stranger when you need help!

I went to Berklee College of Music right near there and lived in Boston for 12 years.  A lot of things have changed but a walk down Newbury Street is quite recommended with a stop at Newbury Comics for sure.  The awesome Trident Booksellers has a cafe and is about a 4 minute walk from the convention center.  Pavement Coffee (also on Newbury Street) is supposed to be good but I don’t recall or it may not have been there when I was in the area.

Ah and for restaurants if you don’t mind a quite expensive yet exceptional experience you can’t beat Capital Grille.  

Wouldn’t call myself a Bostonian by any stretch, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed walking the Freedom Trail and Beacon Street at sundown. It’s really the perfect way for someone who’s short on time to experience the city, in my opinion.

This year I’m doing an early morning run around Fenway 2 or 3 times during K:BOS week (if anyone wants to join, add me on Strava), and doing some shopping in Back Bay.

The MFA was well worth the visit last year, too!

As a first time visitor to the U.S and Boston from New Zealand, would love to get some recommendations on the “Quintessential” things to do/try while my fiancee and I are in Boston. 

Any recommendations are much much appreciated !!

I’ve been told that a local bar named Cheers is the place to go if you want to go somewhere where everyone knows your name. :) The “bench” from Good Will Hunting isn’t terribly far away from it too.

On my last visit there, I really enjoyed Row 34 for seafood if you are in town early enough. Bonus points if you can squeeze in the Ice Cream Museum.
