You can do it in the following way:
Step 1: Create a custom metric for first-time orders:

Go to Analytics > Metrics:

In Klaviyo, navigate to the Metrics section.

Locate the 'Placed Order' Metric:

This metric tracks all orders in your account.

Filter for First Orders:
-
Use a filter to identify first-time customers by combining the Placed Order metric with a condition:

Filter by:
Profile: Has placed X orders = 1
.

Save this custom metric:
-
Name it "First-Time Orders" or something similar for easy identification.

Step 2: Export data for analysis:

Export the 'First-Time Orders' Metric:

Export the filtered data for "First-Time Orders."

Include fields like
Customer Email
,Order ID
,Product ID
, andProduct Name
.

Download the Data:

Download the report as a CSV file for further analysis.

Thanks for asking this question in our community! I’d like to highlight the two articles that pranay sent above. While isolating which products are most likely to be ordered first isn’t possible as of now, if you’re a Shopify user, you can use their Product Insights to get this information! From there, you can create segments based on people who have ordered your most popular products as their only order, or flows for when people place a certain product as their first order.

To identify the product driving the most first-time orders in Klaviyo, use the product analytics from the Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) Report or Custom Metrics. Filter for first-time buyers, and analyze the most purchased items. For advanced insights, the Klaviyo Profiles API can extract customer data and link it to products purchased.
