Collecting SMS Consent as alcohol brand

Are we allowed to collect SMS consent at checkout if we are an alcohol/ age gated brand? Can I sync my Shopify SMS subscribers to Klaviyo too, even though we're an alcohol/ age gated brand?

Hey @amanda_d! The short answer is: it depends. Alcohol does fall under SHAFT content restrictions for most scenarios. However, there are some exceptions within Klaviyo. You are allowed to collect SMS subscribers with an age gate form, but only for subscribers in the US, UK, Germany, Ireland, and Australia.
