Source Code or the text panel

Hi everyone, it looks to me as though the “Source code” option has disappeared from the text panel. Has there been a UI change and has it been moved?

@StefaniaP hey there, welcome to the Community forum, I love your name haha

Sadly, Klaviyo have recently removed the option to edit the source code in all text blocks. This is slowly being rolled out across all accounts (not everywhere at once).

After the update, the only way to edit the source code will be to add an HTML block (instead of a text block) and make any edits there.

Hopefully this helps!

Just wanted to circle back to this thread. I shared your experiences back to the product support team and have heard through the grapevine, Klaviyo has listened and is working on reverting things.

That amazing, hopefully sooner then later.

I fixed the issue by exporting my universal blocks via there api and copy and pasted the html into a html universal field.

But at this time I can't edit my flows because they all use the text block. So I hope they fix the issue soon!

This is stupid and ridiculous this doesn’t allow me to edit templates how I need to. I’m going to have to quit Klaviyo and go to another mail provider.

So somewhere at Klaivyo is a PM who thought removing flexibility and control is a benefit to users? That having to make edits on multiple screens is better than having it in one location?

You bifurcated one feature into two, while providing no legacy support effectively killing workflow of your clients. Bravo. In our org we are designers trying to build templates for two brands and teach managers how to use the platform, you are making this very hard.

I only really used the source code editor to make our registered trademark symbol super script… an incredibly simple change now made incredibly inconvenient with this switch. Glad to read they may be rectifying the issue...
