Can I segment profiles by size or color variants?

Hey @jordank !Great question. When segmenting by ordered product, you can apply a filter to look for specific sizes or products. The segment would look like this: (Note that your filter options may appear differently based on your store setup. “Variation Option: Size” could have a different label). You can additionally add in a product name, so the segment would look like:Ordered product at least once over all time where size = XandOrdered product at least once over all time where Name = Y Note that we do not support multi-dimensional filtering at this time, so in the segment definition above, it is not certain that the Ordered Product event for the specified product name is the same ordered product event for the size specified. It sounds like you might prefer to do something like “Ordered product where size = X and Name = Y” (ie, you are applying two filters to the same Ordered Product event), but this is unfortunately not possible at this time.If SKU, Product ID, or any other filtera

Hey @vitbarreto- I apologize that I’m only just seeing your comment!One reason we don’t tag this automatically is because there are some cases in which the first purchase date recorded by Klaviyo isn’t actually the first purchase date for that customer. For example, say a business had a custom ecommerce platform, and then migrated to using a new platform. If the data from their custom platform could not be migrated to the new one, then the purchase data integrated from the new platform might not actually be the first purchase date.Just one example, but hopefully that makes sense!Cheers,Kalie

Hey @Toccara !Which integration are you using? For most integrations, you can use the “Ordered Product” metric to filter by variant-level data. Using the “Placed Order” metric will allow you to segment by product name, but “Ordered Product” allows you to get more granular, down to the SKU level.Reply back if you have any questions!

Hi @WonderWho,BigCommerce doesn’t pass us any kind of responsive link or cart token in the “Checkout Started” event, so we cannot rebuild a cart for that integration. If you’re interested, however, Arctic Leaf created an app that will allow you to regenerate a person’s cart with BigCommerce! Hey @vitbarreto,The flow to tag first purchase date cannot be backpopulated, so this is something that will only tag users moving forward. If you want to backfill the data, I’d recommend exporting first purchase date from your ecomm platform, and then uploading that data to Klaviyo (instructions).Reply back if you have any questions!

You can try backpopulating your flow, which will allow you to pull users in retroactively. https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049924272-How-to-Back-Populate-a-Flow#list--and-segment-triggered-flows2However, I would be cautious with this as you don’t want to send content that may no longer be timely/relevant for your subscribers.Depending on your flow length & content, it may be better to send a one-off campaign to the skipped users.

To follow up:If using Magento, the tag {{ event.extra.checkout_url }} should work. If using Magento 2, you’ll want to use {{ organization.url }}reclaim/checkout/cart?quote_id={{ event.Extra.QuoteID }}If you are having issues with either one of these, any screenshots of the actual implementation would be helpful!

Hey @CDJ08 !Do you have a Shopify integration? If so, try :{{ event.extra.responsive_checkout_url }}This should re-load the cart contents regardless of what device a user opens the link on!

Ah, yes! That flow filter is most definitely the problem. Great catch.Instead of using a flow filter, you can add this condition as a conditional split at the very top of your flow, before the first email.[CONDITIONAL SPLIT] Properties about someone » Created is in the last day. Then your flow will go down the “yes” path.This way, the created date is evaluated at the start of the flow, but not throughout the remaining flow steps.

@woakskin Yes- double opt in could certainly be the issue in that context. To verify this, I would recommend subscribing through the footer with a test email. Then check your Klaviyo profile: does it say you accept marketing, but you’re not on a list? If so, you can then go to your email and confirm opt-in. At that point, you should find yourself on the Klaviyo list.Of course, if you don’t receive the opt-in email from Klaviyo (and you’ve checked inbox, promotions, spam, etc), then this could indicate that your footer form isn’t properly connected to a Klaviyo list. In that case, I’d refer you back to my initial comment for troubleshooting the form setup!

Hi @sendeats !It’s a little tricky to troubleshoot from the screenshot, but here are a few things to consider:When was this flow set live? If you click into the analytics for email 2, is anyone queued up to receive this email soon? I see 249 are “waiting.”Are there any flow filters on your flow that might be removing users?I see you have different message variations. What weights are the email variations set to? If everything is set to 0%, then that could explain the email not sending. Just a few things to help get started here. Let me know what additional information you can provide!

@woakskin Another thing- users who accept marketing at checkout but do not complete a purchase will NOT be added to your Klaviyo list. So, in that instance, someone would have the property accepts marketing = true, but won’t appear on your list. This is expected behavior for our Shopify integration.Just want to mention that because the screenshot you provided isn’t sufficient to say that a person should have been added to your list. Hope that helps; reply back if you have any questions!

Hi @woakskin,All free accounts have double opt-in enforced. Paid accounts can have “opt-in control” enabled, which gives you the option to remove double opt-in if desired. Note that double opt-in won’t actually prevent someone from being able to join your list… it just forces an extra step in the subscription process, so the customer subscribes, confirms, and is then added to your list.

Replenishment Flow Trigger Filters

Backpopulating the flow will queue users up relative to when they completed the trigger event.This means that users who purchased exactly 25 days will be queued up to receive the flow today (assuming they meet all other conditions of the flows). If someone purchased, say, 13 days ago, then they’ll get queued up to receive the flow in 12 days, again assuming that all other flow conditions are met. Someone who purchased 26 days ago won’t receive the flow at all, because they’ve already exceeded the time delays of the flow.

Hi @awalters , You’ll want to maintain the existing setup with a 25 day time delay. Your other suggestions won’t work and I’ll try to explain why:Option 1:[Placed Order Zero Times Since Entering This Flow]+[Placed Order Zero Time In The Last 25 Days.]Nobody would qualify for this flow because it can’t be possible that someone has triggered the flow by placing an order, but has also placed 0 orders in the last 25 days. Option 2:[Placed Order 24 Days Ago]+[Placed Order Zero Times Since Entering This Flow]+[Wait 1 Day]The trigger event of placing an order can’t be backdated 24 days- you could achieve this with a segment trigger instead but that creates other issues… specifically that someone will fall out of your flow if they stop meeting the segment conditions at any point, and also that someone can’t enter a segment-based flow more than once per lifetime. The best/cleanest way to go about this is to use the default setup with a 25 day time delay. If you want to see more immediate result

Hey @kriziadg !We don’t currently support the ability to include checkboxes in your template, but there are a few workarounds.The first option is to use buttons to collect information about your customers. You can view our Help Doc here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005255248-How-to-Use-Buttons-to-Collect-Information-About-Your-RecipientsI think this option is good for a single question, but I wouldn’t recommend using it 4+ times in your template.Instead, I would recommend directing users to a preference page as you described! If using a button block to link users to the preference page, you can do this with the tag: {% manage_preferences_link %}The only thing to keep in mind is that if you’re sending this content in your welcome flow, and that flow is triggered by a list, then you’ll need to make sure you update the list preference page. This is not the same as the global “Preference Pages” for your account. You can find more information on list preference pages here:

Whats the difference between accepts marketing and the Newsletter list?

Hi @Alastairofecw !“Accepts marketing” is a Shopify-specific property. If someone opts-in to email marketing in your Shopify store, you will notice that they have a property of “Accepts marketing = true.”In your integration settings, you can choose to have users who accept marketing in Shopify get added to a list in Klaviyo: As long as you have this setting checked off, then you can just use your Klaviyo lists as your source of truth for opt-ins. You won’t want to rely on this property because it is a Shopify property, which means subscribers you collect through a Klaviyo signup form will not have this property. Generally speaking, your subscriber lists in Klaviyo are the most accurate way to identify users who have given consent for email marketing!Cheers,Kalie

Hey @harwardm !Events that sync to Klaviyo include data that can be used in your email templates. When you are working with an event/metric-triggered flow, you can use the Preview tool in the template editor to add dynamic content to your template. I’d recommend checking out our instructions here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002779071-Personalize-Flow-Emails-with-Dynamic-Event-Data#how-to-find-event-variables3To give you a general process to follow:Create a flow with the trigger event that you are wanting to use (Order shipped, Order on hold, etc) Add an email action under the flow trigger Configure email content. Open the preview tool in our template editor, and find the line of event data that refers to the “Tracking Number” Click on that, and see that it provides a code slug for you to insert into your template Copy the code slug, and paste it into your template!These instructions are covered in the help doc linked, but hopefully that gives you further clarity. Creating a Dynamic Discount

Hey David,  You should see a blue “Create Coupon” button in the bottom right corner of the screen after you fill out the fields shown in your screenshot. If you don’t see that, please reach out to success@klaviyo.com and we will troubleshoot your specific account! The preview email will always assign the same code to you (see here). However, the live flow will generate a new code per recipient. We don’t currently have a way to format the codes; Klaviyo generates a random combination of letters and numbers. If you wanted to use your own custom codes, you could always use Uploaded Coupons instead! Best,Kalie
