Carrier Approved with Typo, Still Showing "Awaiting Approval" — Needs Staff Assistance
Hi Klaviyo team,
I need assistance from a staff member with an Australian branded SMS sender ID application that I have been trying to resolve since April.
Here is the timeline:
-
I initially applied to use “AG Milano” as my sender ID. This was rejected because it was reportedly not close enough to my registered business name, even though AG is my logo and my brand is Afterglow Milano.
-
I was then asked to provide additional information proving that I am the director of the company. I supplied the requested documentation on multiple occasions—approximately six times—but continued to encounter issues and rejections with the application.
-
In late May or early June, I submitted a new application through Klaviyo for the sender ID “AFTERGLOW” in all capital letters.
-
Since then, the application has remained marked as “Awaiting Approval” in Klaviyo.
-
On 23 June, I received an email from the Australian Communications and Media Authority advising that my sender ID had been approved. However, the sender ID shown in that approval was incorrect and has a typo “AFTERGLOWk,” with a lowercase “k,” rather than “AFTERGLOW,” which is what I applied for.
-
I have checked the registration details I submitted through Klaviyo and can confirm there is no typo in my application. I correctly entered “AFTERGLOW.” The error therefore appears to have occurred while the application was being processed or transferred.
-
I contacted the relevant authority to explain that this appeared to be a typographical or processing error. I was advised that they could not correct it and that I would need to contact Klaviyo.
-
Despite the approval email, Klaviyo still shows my application as “Awaiting Approval.” It has now been MONTHS since the awaiting approval ststus on Klaviyo, something that apparently should only take 2-5 business days… I have now tried to send myself a test SMS, but Klaviyo says I am not registered to send messages in Australia.
I have been trying to complete this process for several months and have repeatedly provided every piece of information requested from me. I am now stuck because my sender ID was processed incorrectly, the application has not been updated inside Klaviyo, and I cannot send SMS messages in the country where my business operates.
Could a Klaviyo staff member please:
-
Investigate why my sender ID application still shows as “Awaiting Approval”;
-
Correct the approved sender ID from “AFTERGLOWk” to “AFTERGLOW”;
-
Confirm whether any further information is genuinely required from me; and
-
Enable my account to send SMS messages in Australia once the correction has been made?
I would appreciate this being escalated to the team responsible for Australian sender ID registrations.
I also do not believe I should be expected to upgrade to a plan costing hundreds of dollars simply to speak to a human about an error I did not make. I have done everything within my power to complete this process correctly, including submitting the requested documentation multiple times, checking that my registration contains no typo, and contacting the relevant authority directly. Access to meaningful assistance with a registration or processing error should not depend on paying hundreds of dollars for features I do not otherwise need.
This issue has already involved months of follow-up, repeated document submissions, and a considerable amount of my time. I would appreciate a staff member taking ownership of the matter and helping me bring it to a resolution.
I am happy to provide the application details, approval email, screenshots, and previous correspondence privately to a staff member. For privacy and security, I will not post sensitive company or account information publicly.
Thank you.
