I have started to create numerous flows; browse abandonment, cart abandonment, welcome, thank you etc. When a customer is put in a flow and opens an email within said flow they are then put into a segment, I want to know when a customer is in a flow do they also receive campaign emails we send week on week?

 

We don’t want to interrupt flows for example:

Flow email 1

*wait 2 days but in this period gets a campaign email*

Flow email 2 

 

And we don’t want it to appear spammy!

Thanks for your question! When a customer is in a flow, they will receive campaign emails if they are in the list or segment to which the campaign email is sent. You can exclude them from campaign emails fairly easily with the Smart Send feature - this article explains what it is and how to update the time frame.

You can also exclude customers in the flow from campaigns by excluding flow segments from a campaign - depending on how often you send campaigns and how long the customer stays in the flow segment, this option may be trickier. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!


Hi @tuesp customers will only receive campaign emails if they are part of the list/segment that you specifically scheduled the campaign to go to. So, you don’t have to worry about any automated process that would auto-add them into a campaign blast unless they’re already included in the list that you plan to send the content out to.
