How do you exclude people or groups from campaign analytics?

I’d like to include all of the internal people in our company on certain external emails, but not have their opens and clicks registered when we review campaign results. Is there a way to do this?

Hello @MichaelG,

Great question!
At this time it is not currently possible to exclude certain emails or groupings of data to be excluded from your campaign results. Since these events did in fact occur, Klaviyo will report on the data within its analytics without a means to omit them.

However, I am aware that this is a highly sought after feature and will be sharing this feedback with our Product Team to consider as a future iteration of Klaviyo. We’ll follow up on this thread when we find out more details with any updates on this from the team.

Thanks for being a part of our Klaviyo Community!

Hello @Andreas from Nuffinz,

I understand your concerns regarding how this situation would affect Klaviyo’s benchmark capabilities due to how manual orders would still be attributed to the most recent email opened or clicked by the purchaser.

I really appreciate the feedback of this specific use case and will be adding it to the notes shared to our Product Team. I’ll follow up on this thread when I find out more details or am able to provide an update on this topic from the team.

Thanks for being a member of our Klaviyo Community and providing your insight!

Hi David,

Any updates on this? I see it’s been a year but no updates or changes have been made. This is really an important feature we should be able to have. We need to be able to news to email groups of affiliates/influencers and we can’t have this affecting our eCommerce analytics since these aren’t marketing emails. It should be a very simple implementation from the Klaviyo dev team.

Doing a preview email is a workaround, but still isn’t great because we would still like to be able to see open rates, click rates, etc. which is not possible with preview.

Hey @Brian F,

There haven’t been any updates I can share regarding this feature on excluding certain events from the attribution model.

Our wonderful product team is working hard on bringing a number of exciting new features and product enhancements. Although there isn’t an update I can provide at this time, I can assure you that our product team has been exploring this feature enhancement per the request that was previously submitted.

So, in other words, this isn’t ever happening.

Any updates on this? I’d really like to exclude internal traffic from my client’s analytics.

@David To I too would like an update. Clearly this is a feature a number of people want, and it shouldn’t be that hard for the dev team to just build a checkbox that says “exclude this campaign’s data from analytics” or be able to add individual profiles to be excluded from analytics like others have mentioned.

I mean, you guys have built badges for rewards in your forums and you have over 60 of them. If you have the time to build badges that are just for show, you can build us this feature

Hey @Brian F

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Unfortunately this product feature is still not available. While the Community team is able to build out programs and recognition to celebrate contributions made within the community, we are not product engineers and rely on the product team to evaluate and create product updates. You are 100% correct though, that this would be incredibly useful to a lot of customer and I will make sure to share your request for this feature to be prioritized with our analytics product team. While I know that this doesn’t solve your issue, I hope you can understand who we are as the Community team, what our capabilities are and that we will keep advocating for all of our members needs.

Thank you so much again for sharing your feedback and will make sure to update you as soon as I have a product update that I can share.

Hi @stephen.trumble

Do you have any updates on this feature?

As a large retailer, the data from our internal profiles - such as "added to cart" and "viewed product" metrics - are skewing our overall analytics, making them quite unreliable.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Really need this feature to exclude my store sales from skewing reporting.
